Cookie Policy
Last updated: 16 July 2026
This policy explains, in plain language, what cookies and similar technologies iTextwise uses, why, and how you stay in control.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website (or a service it uses) stores in your browser. They help sites work properly, stay secure, remember choices and, in some cases, measure traffic or show ads. Some similar technologies — such as your browser's local storage — also save small amounts of data on your device.
Our approach
iTextwise is built to be light on cookies. You do not need an account, and we do not use cookies to build our own advertising profile about you. We keep cookies to what is needed to run the site securely, plus optional ads that keep the tool free — and those load only if you agree.
The cookies we use
1. Strictly necessary / security. Our infrastructure provider, Cloudflare, sets essential cookies (for example __cf_bm and cf_clearance) to protect the site from bots and abuse and to keep it running reliably. These are required for the site to work securely and cannot be switched off from the cookie banner.
2. Preferences (stored on your device). Your light/dark theme, your language and your cookie choice are saved in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device, is never sent to us, and can be cleared any time from your browser.
3. Analytics — cookieless. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand overall traffic. It is privacy-friendly and does not use cookies or fingerprint you.
4. Advertising (optional). To keep iTextwise free, we may show ads through Google AdSense. When advertising is enabled, AdSense may set cookies to show and measure ads. These load only if you choose "Accept" on the cookie banner. If you choose "Necessary cookies," advertising cookies are not set.
Managing your choices
When you first visit, a banner lets you Accept all cookies or keep only Necessary cookies. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which will make the banner appear again.
You can also control cookies directly in your browser settings — block them, delete existing ones, or get a warning before they are stored. Note that blocking essential security cookies may affect how the site works.
